The steam consumption (at 2.5 bar, saturated) for distillation and azeotropic dehydration with cyclohexane ranges from 3 to 3.5 and 1.5-2 kg L-1 of ethanol, respectively (BNDES and CGEE 2008).
The same applies for CHP unit, since steam consumption is much lower in the off-season compared to season, when 1G process is also operational.
